Resumé

As a freelance writer/editor, I’m currently a contributing writer to the magazine German Life and a contributor to several newspapers including Stars and Stripes, the web sites TravelSquire and worldguide.eu – and others. 

My articles and photographs have been published in: USA Today, the Boston Globe, The Houston Chronicle, The Washington Post, The Detroit Free Press, San Antonio Express News, The Courier-Journal ( Louisville, Ky. ), and the magazines Global Traveler, France,  SKIING, Off Duty, R&R TV, Succeed, Weekends, as well as others including the trade publications  Personnel Today, Global HR and International Gaming & Wagering Business.

Sixteen years ago  my husband and I and two black cats moved from Germany, where we had lived and worked for some 27 years, to the north Luberon area of Provence, France.  Two years ago we moved south to the Riviera.

Employment in Germany included:

Travel Editor, then features editor for the daily newspaper Stars and Stripes.

Site manager/editor for a Department of Defense web site in the Balkans.

Consultant for Hewlett-Packard Medical Products Group and Components Group. Edited technical documents and produced articles and newsletters.

German Press/Public Relations manager for the Walt Disney Co.

German Marketing Director for European Horizons, Inc., an international marketing and publishing company for the travel industry.

Before moving to Europe I was a reporter at the Louisville Courier-Journal. Prior to that I served in the Peace Corps in Brazil. Academic credentials include a master’s degree in journalism and a bachelor’s degree in French, both from Northwestern University; Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom from the Goethe Institute and a Certificato d’Italiano from the Volkshochschule in Germany.
